The fires roar under the roasting remains of the great beast, a glistening trophy from the wild hunt, filling the hall with the rich umami scent.
As the fire crackles with the dripping fat, drinks are refilled, and tankards raised in celebration of the monarch's long reign to the uplifting and merry sounds of music.
Smiling the old king leaned back in his chair, the years spent keeping the peace over these lands have taken their toll on his mind and once mighty frame, but in this moment, with the sounds of the young feasting and being merry, all is well.
