Rumbling across the plains, leaving destruction in its wake. (Patreon patrons receive 6 additional versions of this track)
Greetings Patrons,
Whew. This one took many twists and turns. I had originally sketched this out to be a Halloween track, but last week's Lady of the Wood was a better fit. War Wagon ended up being more bombastic, more chaotic, and even sweeter in parts.
The sound of the war wagon is layers of wood scrapes, rattles, multiple tracks of cart wheels pitched and compressed to sound huge. The sound design also includes 'pullers' of said wagon. These were giants (or something else huge) who, along with throngs of soldiers held on to hundreds of ropes to drag this machine of carnage along.
Musically this is purely orchestral and choir. There's a bit of piano leftover from the original sketch as I thought it added a bit of something. Or more like, when I removed it I felt there was something missing. Probably a case of demo-itis. But there we go.
As this track is in Patreon sneak-peek mode, I've included the mixed version (live on the site next week), as well as music-only, and ambience only versions of this track. Additionally, I created 2 'no wagon' versions, which is what you think it is. Also I created 2 'no pullers' versions which remove the ropes, the heavy footsteps of the giants and the occasional 'heave ho's' of the soldiers. I hope you find these useful additions.
Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support. And have a safe (and spooky) Halloween!
Best,
Tim
