New Ambience: Ice Harvester Station

Greetings Patrons,

I was thinking about how if we ever start traveling the stars, water might be the most valuable resource in the universe. I know that guy in The Martian made it out of hydrogen and oxygen but I prefer getting water the old fashioned way: Using heavy machinery and ice axes to to chip it out of mountains.

This is what I would call sci-fi adjacent. The theme of gathering a precious substance on an alien world is absolutely sci-fi, but this could also be taking place somewhere on earth.

The ambience here is a hostile environment that's both interior and exterior at once. A large open mouthed mine where sounds reverberate within, and the the winds and snow howl outside. Large machines with huge boring drills excavate ice, while humans and robots use various tools to break the ice into smaller pieces for processing.

The music is hybrid cinematic. Lots of strings and brass, combined with synthesizers create a flowing dramatic soundscape. Like the ambience, there's nothing inherently sci-fi about this (except maybe the synths). There's an expository vibe about it which could make it good for arrival scenes or location descriptions.

As this track is in Patreon sneak-peek mode, I've included the mixed version of the track (live on the site next week), as well as music-only, and ambience-only versions at the end of this post. Additionally, I created 2 no-machines, and 2 no-machines, no-ice versions for some added utility. I hope you find these additions useful.
