New Ambience: Lost Contact

Greetings Patrons,

Before I tell you about this new track, I wanted to let everyone know that I'm off for the next 10 days for the annual family beach trip (actually leaving this Friday). So, no release next week.

For this track, 'Lost Contact', I wanted to do a suspense/mystery thing, without venturing into horror. I realized that it's so easy for me to slip down the horror path! This is what I would call a sci-fi adjacent track. Meaning, the original idea was a kind of space station/outpost/abandoned structure vibe, but it could really be anything. In fact, I went back and forth on whether this should be an interior or exterior location. As you'll see below. I went with both.

Musically, this is modern style cinematic underscore. Filtered drums, percussive synths, noisy synths and a bit of string ensemble. I think this would work for a fairly wide array of genres. Anything that needs a bit of subtle tension.

The ambience (interior) is industrial ventilation, equipment shuddering to life, banging doors, reverberant metal and footsteps. The exterior version is a harsh windstorm, various large insects, rustling brush and again, footsteps. It could absolutely be earth based.

As this track is in sneak-peek mode (until I return from the beach) I've included the mixed-version, as well as music-only, and ambience-only versions of the track. As I mentioned above, I also created an 'Exterior Version' which is the same music with different ambient sound effects. For both the interior (which is the main track, so it's not labelled as such) and exterior tracks I created 'no footsteps' versions for added utility.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim
