Edit: 5 Aug 3pm EST - pushed another fix and crossfades and playlist loops should respect volume set by slider more consistently now. - Tim
Greetings Everyone,
This update is going out to everybody, as all my posts do when they affect the free live site. As many of you know, I've been adding features to the ambience player recently. The latest has been the ability to select smooth fades when pressing stop, as well as the often-requested ability to crossfade smoothly between tracks.
Today's update has also been on my to-do list for a while. The ability to re-order tracks in playlists. If you open the player up on the site (click the 'show player' button), and add tracks. You'll see that the player expands much more than it did before. Previously, you'd see the top 5 or 6 tracks and then have to scroll for everything else. Now you'll get many more visible tracks before you have to scroll.
Grabbing the handles on the left will allow you to drag and drop the tracks where you want them. Don't forget to save the playlist after you do! If you want to overwrite the playlist, you must name it the exact same name. You can see what playlists you've got by clicking the 'playlist' button. You can load them or delete them from here.
Tech note: Playlists, like SoundPads and Scenes, are all stored as small text files in your browser's local storage. So, to get them onto another device or save a backup, use the link button to generate a custom link and email it to yourself.
You can also extend the bottom of the player downwards (to about 60% of your screen height).
The GIF below explains it better.
I also got a couple of reports of the player not respecting volume adjustments on playlist loops. I believe I've tracked down the issue and that fix is live as well. As with all these updates your browser may need a hard refresh (or 2) before these become accessible.
