Greetings Patrons,
This track has been kicking around for a while. It's been through lots of revisions and tweaks and I finally feel like I'm ready to move on. My working title for this was "Barry_thing" - because I thought the opening low strings riff sounded like a John Barry / Bond villain motif. What it ended up being was more of a grandiose, wide-screen, action track.
Everything here is fairly typical orchestration. Strings, brass and percussion carry the biggest load, choir and a lead vocal line fill things out and help punch it up a notch when it needs it.
The ambience is set from the POV of one of the lighters of the beacons. They are up on the ridges looking down on the battle below. Distant crowd roars, sword clashes, pounding horses all reverberate from within the valley.
As this track is currently in Patreon exclusive sneak-peek mode, I've included the mixed version of the track (live on the site next week), as well as ambience-only and music only versions. Additionally, I added the most number of alternate versions - I think ever?
There are 2 'no swords' versions which keep the crowd sounds but remove the metal impacts. I thought it added a cool variation. Additionally, I created 2 'no battle' versions which remove all the voices and fighting completely, leaving just the beacons, banners, war horns, and the wind.
I also went back and forth with the lead vocal section in the music. I like it, but it works slightly better as underscore without, so I created a 'no lead vox' variant.
Lastly, I picked out 3 sections that would make decent loops and included those as well. They are in both .ogg and .mp3 formats (ogg tends to loop better in some players)
Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.
Best,
Tim
