New Ambience: Resurrection

Greetings Patrons,

I have returned from our family trip to Madrid. It was my first time in Spain and it was amazing. What a truly wonderful city. I even managed to go to a few music shops and not come home with an extra suitcase full of toys! One of the best parts of travel is coming home, and in my case, getting back to the studio.

I started this track before I left, knowing that I'd have some time to think about it on the trip. The original music was sketched out, as well as a a bare bones winter ambience, but that was about it. The idea that started to form was of a magical ritual. Clerics maybe? Wizards? Doing...something. But, what?

Seeing as it was a snow and ice ambience, I couldn't get the idea of a woolly mammoth out of my head. But, instead of a living mammoth roaring and trumpeting across the tundra, I made this one frozen. As in - dead frozen.

Now I could have my mages, or warlocks or what have you attempting to resurrect this creature for good or evil. There would be some spell casting, some chanting, some careful chipping away at the ice binding the creature to the tundra.

Musically this is deep undulating drones, washed out, ambient guitars, synths and gently struck low orchestral percussion. I added a nyckelharpa to give it a bit of a northern vibe and act as a kind of lead 'voice'.

The ambience is frozen winds, chipping ice, crunching snow, chants and magical energy.

As this track is in Patreon sneak-peek , I've included the mixed-version, as well as ambience-only, and music-only versions here for patrons. Additionally, I created some variations of both the mixed and ambience only tracks. There are 'no magic', 'no chants', and 'no magic or chant' versions for added flexibility.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim
