Tech Update: Player Fade-out.

Greetings Patrons,

I finally got around to making a quality of life improvement to the ambience player. I know many of you have been requesting a better fade-out algorithm. The old behavior was an abrupt stop that could sometimes take players out of the mood. The tried and true method, as many of you know (sorry), was to manually ride down the volume slider and hit stop at the end.

The new format is a clean, logarithmic (starts quickly, ends slowly) 6 second fade when you hit the stop button. I tweaked the timing of this a bunch and I arrived at 6 seconds feeling right.

If the player is hidden, the top bar stop button has the same effect, albeit with different visual feedback.

Fades are enabled by default. If you want to go back to the old abrupt method, simply click the new 'fade' led in the player itself. The current browser will remember your preferences. You'll need to redo the preferences on different browsers/machines.

iOS Users: This doesn't work on ipads/iphones. iOS works differently and does not allow for software control of volume so you won't see this new behavior.

I also know that many of you would like to have crossfading in the playlist. This is a much different situation and requires multiple audio streams at once which I've heard may be possible but is also basically a hack - and again, won't work on iOS.
