Greetings Patrons,
I'm continuing to remaster these early SoundPads, and making them available as Patreon exclusive downloads.
Please don't share these files. They are for you, dear patrons, and you alone!
The website versions will most likely stay as they are for the time being, but these re-mastered audio files are of higher quality than what appears online (bandwidth/cost issues) and have been tweaked to the standards of the later SoundPads.
The format for these will be .ogg as it's superior to mp3 for looping purposes as well as quality/file size considerations.
As with most Patreon content, the simplest way to access it is via the Tabletop Audio website. As each SoundPad is remastered, a "Download on Patreon" button will appear on the page. That link will take you to the appropriate post.
If there are any Multi-part sounds (denoted by the x2, x4, etc on the website), they will be split into individual sounds as they would require the SoundPad engine to play properly. e.g.
Additionally, the files have all been renamed with a more consistent naming convention and id3 tags have been added.

Originally released in October, 2019 Ice Planet was the 23rd installment of the SoundPad series and the 3rd of what I began to call the *Planet series. These were designed originally as singular biomes within which to tell stories. However, I didn't want to be limited to realistic sounds, so the 'Planet' suffix freed me from having to think terrestrially
Interestingly, I went back to the original post and seems like the 'planet' suffix was also a way to combat creative block:
When I first got the idea for this, I created a series of wind sounds, the low constant drone wind, the fearsome blizzard wind, then the interior cave wind and then - I got stuck. I thought I'd made a mistake picking this setting because I literally couldn't think of anything other than winds to be on this planet. And, ice. I added some ice sounds.
After another bout of sound designer block, I then I decided to think about what-ifs. What if there was a dungeon here? Maybe it has doors. Maybe a door could be a giant snow boulder that you roll across an opening? Maybe you've got a horse, or some kind of snow beast that you ride. Who or what else could be here?
This is why the word 'planet' gets added to many of the SoundPad names. It gives me a way to get 'unstuck'. Freed from the boundaries of creating something actual I can be a little more creative and bend some of the rules.
Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.
Best,
Tim
