New Ambience: Drawing Room: Night

Greetings Patrons,

The drawing room was the hub of all activity in manor houses. It was here that guests were received, families gathered after meals, games were played, and even small concerts. Salons, parlors, living rooms and state rooms are all based on the human need for congregation. They are places where stories are made. Announcements, confessions, betrayals, rumors, and plans - they all begin here.

But what happens at the end of the evening, when the last person puts down their brandy and calls it a night? At some point it's the job of the butler to close everything down. Doors closed, cabinets locked, fire tended, and lamps doused.

Drawing Room: Night is the end of such an evening. The weather outside is dreadful, but the fire is still warm, and the butler goes about his duties.

The ambience is an interior perspective of a storm. Windows rattle, and wind seeps through small gaps making the lights flicker. There's a warm fire and the sounds of footsteps, and occasional distant thumps. A perfect setting for a romantic tryst, a secret meeting, or a burglary.

Musically this isn't period accurate, but the vibe seemed right. Piano, strings, woodwinds, and celeste weave around each other, tracing a fine line between spooky and calm. There's vampire stories here. Gothic romance and intrigue as well. I think it would make a fine background track for a variety of non-action situations.

As this track is in Patreon exclusive sneak-peek mode, I've included the mixed version of the track (live on the site next week), as well as ambient-only, and music-only versions here. Additionally, I created 2 'no butler' tracks that make it even emptier. Finally, I extracted a modified solo piano loop from the piece that you can use as an interstitial segment, or however you like. The loop is included as ogg and mp3. Ogg usually loops a bit more seamlessly but use whichever one works best. I hope you find these useful additions.
