Greetings Patrons,
Train stations, like their sci-fi cousins space stations, are amazing story generators. Stories can begin, develop and end in them. Arrivals and departures are meaningful events. Crowds can act en masse, like a school of fish, or individually and chaotically. You can lose yourself (or someone else) amidst the throngs. Holding everything together is time. The ebb and flow of people and machinery are all beholden to a schedule.
In this track, an unknown event is pushing people to scramble for the final train. It could be war, the threat of invasion, pandemic, aliens, anything. Whatever the reason, they've got to be on that train, and it's getting dicey.
There's a noir vibe to this but I'd say it's definitely not classic noir. The ambience here is an agitated crowd, various station sounds, and of course, trains. The trains are steam trains but it could absolutely pass for a modern era station.
Musically, this is a hybrid score. It's mostly orchestral, but synths play a big part as well. I'd call it an 'action-light' track. Suitable for escapes, chases and general upbeat scenes. I think it would work in just about any genre.
As this is in Patreon exclusive sneak-peek, I've included the mixed version of the track (live on the site next week), as well as ambience-only, and music-only versions here. Additionally, I created two 'calmer' versions which remove the agitated crowd leaving it more of a standard bustling station. I hope you find these useful additions.
Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.
Best,
Tim
