New Ambience: Checkpoint Omega

Greetings Patrons,

There was a scene in the beginning of the Star Wars film 'Solo' (which I enjoyed, and has a great soundtrack) where Han and Q'ira are trying to escape their pursuers and are at a military checkpoint waiting in queue. The scene is busy and tense. Will they get to the window in time? Will the be allowed to pass? There's very little action, but a lot of tension.

I love scenes like this in games and stories because they make time stand still. So many things can happen - internally and externally.

The music is modern film/tv underscore with a bit more teeth. It's designed to push a bit, while still making the time dilate. Synths, drums and dash of ostinato strings. It's modern but not too sci-fi or cyberpunk that it couldn't be used more broadly. It would make a good sub-action/tension track.

The ambience is a crowded reverberant space. Beeps, passing ships outside, repair crews, announcements and soldiers on patrol all add to the oppressiveness of the situation.

As this is in Patreon sneak-peek mode, I've included the mixed version of the track (live on the site next week), as well as ambience-only, and music-only versions here. Additionally, I created 2 'no PA' versions which remove the announcements.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

Love this track; makes me wish I was playing a cyberpunk game! I'm going to try using the Music-only track. Definitely would appreciate more with this instrumentation! The lighter, driving style really works well with my group.

Wonderful! Is there any future plan to make it to where we can broadcast the custom sound board?

Awesome track! It very nearly has cyberpunk vibes, like cyberpunk lo-fi. MOAR of tracks like this, please!
