New Ambience: Yuletide Cantrips

Greetings Patrons,

As usual, I didn't start out writing anything in particular. Definitely not this holiday-adjacement music. But that's what came out! I'm not even sure why this seems so seasonal. Maybe sticking a glockenspiel, harp and cimbalom together just makes it happen? I need to look into this.

So here we are, in a large fantasy city, and it's festival time. Everyone is out on the streets and the local mages have put aside their internecine bickering and have agreed to entertain the masses with a show of light and color. Light and sparks shoot from their fingers and coil majestically in the air, swirling into shapes before erupting into dazzling clouds.

Musically, this is all about the cimbalom - a concert dulcimer. The part is doubled on lute and then a string orchestra adds movement. Tagelharpa, percussion and woodwinds and choir round it out.

As this is in Patreon sneak-peek mode, I've included the mixed-version of the track (live on the site next week), as well as ambience-only and music-only versions here. Additionally, I created two 'no firework' versions which remove both the cantrips and the crowd reactions. This makes it more of a generic cityscape which could be useful.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

Perfect timing! I was about to run a Christmas-themed Call of Cthulhu one shot tomorrow. Although I still haven’t figured out how to log in to Patreon for Tabletop Audio via Kenku. Other sites log in fine, but I can’t access for Tabletop.
