Greetings Patrons,
Before I drop everything and begin cooking for tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner, I present to you the (usually) sleepy (and totally made up) county of Darkmoor. Darkmoor is in the moorlands, or moors, which if you've seen the horror classic "An American Werewolf in London" is a place you certainly shouldn't be wandering around after dark. I've always loved that film and I wanted to do something with a similar vibe.
This is a horror/action track that has a slow build from spooky to breathless and back again. Musically, it's mostly orchestral but I did add some guitar and sound design-y bits to spice things up here and there.
The ambience is low lying brush, evil wind, a few dead trees, some angry crows and a large, shadowy beast that you never get a very good look at. All the foreground bits have a slight delay effect that I thought enhanced the sense of 'wrongness' about the place.
As this track is in Patreon sneak-peek mode, I've attached the mixed-version (live on the site next week), as well as music-only, and ambience-only versions to the bottom of this post. Additionally, I created 2 'Carriage' versions in which the POV is dashing through the moors via horse-drawn carriage. I also created 2 'No Monster' versions which remove our lunaphilic** friend. I hope you find these useful additions.
** note: apparently, this isn't a word, but boy should it be .
Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.
Best,
Tim
