Greetings Patrons,
Here's a fairly calm, peaceful track that combines a breezy summer's day with some slightly odd plant life. I toyed with calling this "Alien Flora" but I didn't want to immediately cast it as sci-fi (which it absolutely could be). "Magical Flora" seemed more genre inclusive, so I went with that one. Most of you know by now that you should never put too much stock into my titles anyway!
Starting with some fairly terrestrial nature recordings I began to add in various organic sounds to create a sense of motion. This flora doesn't just look pretty, it reacts to its environment. It stretches out to greet (grab?), slithers away, oozes, unfolds and disappears. Of course there is insect life among the flora with all the various chirps, scratches and flutters.
Similarly to the ambience, the music began with some basic felt piano which I sent through various external processors to give it an organic, slightly decayed vibe. Additional synths and vocals were added to give it a bit of lightness. I think the music-only versions is entirely genre-less and could be used in a pretty wide variety of settings.
As this track is in Patreon sneak-peek mode, I've included the mixed track, as well as the ambience-only, and music-only versions. Additionally, I created a a 'rain' variation of the mixed and ambience-only versions which adds a gentle summer drizzle. And finally, I created a no-flora version which brings it all back to a more earthly biome and removes some of the magical element.
Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.
Best,
Tim
