Surround Experiments Part Deux: Online Testing

I had posted previously about my early experiments in surround audio but I realized that it didn't make much sense unless I could deliver them via the web. So I've mocked up a page and included a few of the test ambiences.
The page is currently unlinked in any of the menus. I am toying with the idea of making this Patreon only, but for now it's open to all.
Obviously, if you've just got stereo speakers/headphones this isn't going to be very interesting to you. However, if you do have a surround setup with a browser, try the first track 'TTA Surround Test'. This will play a speaker ID in each of your surround speakers (5.1).
Feel free to share with your friends if you think they have a setup that could support this.
And, if it works for you, please share your setup.
Again, I'm not sure what direction this is all going in but I did enjoy the technical aspects of discrete panning, rear-speaker reverb reflections etc. I seriously doubt I'll ever spring for a full dolby atmos setup here but as long as I have 2 extra speakers I thought I'd give it a shot!
One other thing, I changed the file format this time around, from .ogg to .m4a so those of you who couldn't get the first one to work locally, you can download the files on this page and try again in a different player.

This sounds awesome! Thank you so much for adding surround sound tracks! Looking forward to many more to come. IDEA: Add some surround sound capabilities to the Sound Pads too.

2024-06-18 17:34:14 +0000 UTCIf you have a Mac, you can use the Audio MIDI Setup app, like so: 1. **Launch Audio MIDI Setup**: You can find it in Applications > Utilities or use Spotlight to search for it. 2. **Create an Aggregate Device**: Click the “+” button in the bottom left corner and select “Create Aggregate Device”. 3. **Add Speakers**: Select the speakers you want to use for surround sound. For Bluetooth speakers, make sure they’re powered on and paired with your Mac. 4. **Configure Speakers**: If your speakers are connected incorrectly, you may need to adjust the settings to ensure the left and right channels are correct. 5. **Save Changes**: Click “OK” to save your changes.

2024-06-13 16:45:31 +0000 UTCI currently use your tracks on my 7.1 system, and I gotta say your tracks are top quality, my Yamaha receiver separates the audio beautifully already giving very good Spatial Audio with the delay settings I have in place. My game sessions take place right in the center of my audio stage with front and center behind me facing everyone. Please if you can make 7.1 versions of the tracks as well that would fuckin cool man!

2024-06-13 16:34:10 +0000 UTCSeems like it's working as intended. I definitely hear various sounds coming only through specific speaker...like the cave drips and campfire, etc. I have a 5-speaker setup (Polk Audio speakers) coming from a Denon receiver that is connected to my PC via Bluetooth.
