New Ambience: Medieval Market

Greetings Patrons,

After some recent heavy, doom and gloom-type tracks I needed to lighten the mood a bit.

Medieval Market should really be called 'fantasy market' as there's nothing gritty or dirty about it. The weather is lovely, the people are lovely and everyone is smiling. If you've just survived an encounter with the Lord of Bones, you may want to rest here for a while.

As temperate as the weather is, the same can be said of the music. It's very smiley and has a touch of magic about it. String orchestra, harp, french horn, and cor anglais do the heavy lifting.

The ambience is a beautiful spring day with various vendors and shoppers going about their business.

This will be in Patreon-only sneak-peek mode until next week. I've included the mixed version of the track, as well as ambience-only, and music-only versions here, for patrons. Additionally, I created two no-people versions. These should really have been called 'pastoral' versions as they eliminate all the marketplace sounds. Think of them as a spring day in a meadow.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

This is great.

Oh the music only version of this is just perfect for an epilogue, the little vignettes of what the heroes did after the final battle. Has this hopeful feel with a bit of somber touch. definitely a feeling of a happy ending here.

You're not wrong, It is definitely a music forward mix, more akin to a film montage. My intention was that the meadow sounds were supposed to represent a town in the midst of nature. so it's also very nature-y. I like how it turned out, but maybe I'll revisit it with a music-down variation. -Tim

This is almost fabulous! I don't think it's just me (I asked my wife, and played it on multiple locations) but the balance seems off. In the full version the music swamps the ambience and I can't tell it's actually a market (my wife thought "forest"). I think other market or festival mixes you have done are much clearer. As it is, there's not much difference between the music and full version. But I love the mood. Is it possible to get a remix?

Perfect timing! My players recently built a Market Square in Leilon (Sleeping Dragon's Wake, 5e) and this audio will fit perfectly. Thank you.
