New Ambience: Village of the Damned

Greetings patrons,

As the spooky season approaches, I thought I'd do something with a horror bent. I should note that the title of this track doesn't really have anything to do with the book or films by the same name, I just liked that it was creepy sounding and seemed to fit!

Village of the Damned is an outdoor setting, appropriately gloomy and rainy. Not much in the way of characters but you may get the feeling that they are listening through every door and peering from behind every curtain.

This is in sneak-peek mode on the site for a week, so I've included the mixed-version, as well as music-only and ambience-only versions here for patrons. Additionally, I created a second mixed-version, as well as an ambience-only version without the rain/thunder

Musically this is all old-school horror tropes. Creepy children's choir, low brass, sparse piano, and some large percussion scraped with superball mallets, which makes an otherworldly sound. I think the music-only track will work across multiple genres as a tension/suspense bed. I hope you find these additions useful.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

This is excellent.

And I'm still enjoying imagining "large percussion scraped with superball mallets"
