New Ambience: Harpies' Nest

Greetings Patrons,

The family beach trip was excellent, but I'm excited to be back in NYC, and most importantly, back in my studio.

The first thing I did was create a complete ambience-only track of a windy bluff full of harpies. I don't know why this was the first thing I thought of, maybe it was the swarming gulls? Anyway, as those of you who have listened to my ramblings for a while remember, I take varied paths to a complete track. Sometimes it's music first, sometimes ambience first. Sometimes it's an image, or a film, or a game. This one was definitely ambience first.

After creating the ambience (the vocal screeches are the almost un-edited recordings of cape vultures - they're really that weird), I started working on the music. You could definitely call it a battle track, but there are some heroic elements and darker sections as well.

This will be in patron-only sneak-peek mode on the site for a week. I've included the mixed-version as well as ambience-only and music-only versions here. Additionally, I created 2 versions without harpies. A bit counter-intuitive perhaps, but just in case you wanted an encounter on a windy bluff with another foe, or perhaps you return to the nest and it's now empty... (plot hook!). I hope you find these useful.
