New Ambience: Moisture Farm

Greetings Patrons,

This week's track features a desolate planet where enormous machines clunk and whir away in the distance. These huge structures use massive amounts of energy to draw scarce amounts of vapor from the atmosphere. I'd always liked the idea of water being the most valuable resource in the universe and I always thought the Star Wars version of these farms was underwhelming. Those vaporators should have been bigger!

Musically, this track is fairly atmospheric. I combined a bunch of synths and even added a bit of guitar to give it an ever so slight spaghetti western vibe. Muted trumpets also make an appearance and, honestly, I'm so pleased with myself for having thought of that! I went back and forth on adding vocals (reversed and effected) and eventually, I found that they worked for the setting. On its own, this track would work for any desolate environment: fantasy, post-apocalyptic, etc.

As this track is in sneak-peek mode for Patrons I've included the mixed-version, as well as music-only, and ambience-only versions here. Additionally, I created a mixed version and a music-only version without vocals for added flexibility.

One last thing, my family and I are going to be taking our first holiday in 3 years. We'll be gone for 7 days, starting this weekend, so there won't be a track next week. I'm bringing my trusty field recorder however so I hope to collect some cool new sounds!

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

This was really good. I loved this. It's pouring rain where I am right now but I can't keep looping this track. For some reason, I get a Dark Tower kind of vibe, but I'm not sure why.
