New Ambience: Endgame

Greetings Patrons,

I started working on this track with the idea that it would be a slow, drum heavy atmospheric piece but, as often happens, it didn't end up that way at all. Each time I revisited it I felt it was dragging, so I kept upping the tempo. Then, in light of the new tempo, I found the parts too dull. Rinse, repeat. I felt it needed to be bigger, meaner, more... The pounding acoustic drums needed something more aggressive than orchestral instrumentation. But I added that too. Synths? sure. Guitars? Umm, ok. Choir? Why not.

This is one of those stews that contains ALL the spices. I generally think that this approach makes for a terrible mess, but somehow it worked in this.

Endgame is a relentless 10 minutes of battle music which you should probably not bring out when you're in the cellar of the tavern fighting level 1 giant spiders. Save this for the last room of the dungeon, the final showdown, the boss. It's big, it's brash and it's pulpy. I hope you like it.

As I often do for musical tracks I've included a high-res mp3 file here for patrons.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

P.S. Because I'll get asked, this has nothing to do with The Avengers!

Used this when my players were fighting a Goristro in the streets of the capital city. Fiends had flooded the streets and killed many people and this battle was climactic as hell. All of my players commented on how incredible the music was. Thank you so much!

I'm *always* looking for new battle music because it's what my players remember the most. In other words, ambience is good but sometimes not noticed because of the narrative, but the battle music almost always gets a comment. I'll definitely try this for the BBEG!
