Bug Fixes / Tweaks: Custom SoundPad

Greetings Patrons,

I was working with someone over on Twitter to see if I could solve their particular issues with Custom SoundPad when I realized that I had broken something in the last update.

The 'Get Link' feature, which many of you use for backups and sharing, wasn't properly including all the scene information. I managed to track down how I had botched this and fixed it.

Also, as I was poking around in the code, another scene related issue came up. When you saved an existing Custom SoundPad, to a new name, all the scenes disappeared when you reloaded the newly saved copy. I finally figured out what was going on and fixed this as well.

As a reminder, everything from playlists to Custom SoundPads to scenes is saved in your browsers' local storage as a simple text file. If you have data-clearing plugins that you use to scrub your browsers every once in a while, they will delete all of these files.

Cache clears are fine: local storage contents survive a cache clear.

tl;dr:

Thank you all for your continuing support!

Best,

Tim

Thanks for the response. Will check that out.

Again, hopefully one day. In the meantime you can use the free version of roll20 to do that. They have all my 10 minute tracks there.

Hopefully. I got a lot of help with the code for the first broadcast and that person is unavailable now. The Custom SoundPad is a very different and more complex beast so I was told it's an extensive rewrite. - Tim

Hi. Any plans to have the custom soundpad broadcast as well?

I really appreciate the work you put in the web-enabled soundboards, but I generally just download the .ogg files and use them with Farrago on my Mac. It helps me maintain focus when running a session to have a dedicated selection of curated sounds, and I can also more easily mix 'n' match ambiences and specific sound effects to create the perfect soundscape. If ever you decide to build an Android/iOS app, that would be *the* perfect solution, though :)

Big fan of using this site for gaming! Would be awesome to release an IOS app so I don’t need to keep the phone on so the sounds keep playing. Any idea if and when you guys plan on doing this?

I know that chasing down stuff like this is ultra time consuming, so here's a big thank you from me. Your creations add so much depth to my games and knowing that you're spending time hunting down stuff like this just blows my mind.
