New Ambience: Dark Angel

Greetings patrons,

I started tinkering around with some musical ideas this week and realized I was basically making a version of the classic Massive Attack tune Angel. Once I realized where this was going I decided that instead of scrapping it, i'd continue along that vein and make it into an homage to 90s trip hop.

One of the things I loved about the original song is that it lent so much drama to every TV and film setting it appeared in. I tried to capture some of that universality for this piece. This is definitely a modern track but I can see it being used in all manner of sci-fi and fantasy stories.  Anything with tension and impact really.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

My wife runs a Buffy role-playing game, set in 1997. This was perfect!

Your work is often great, but this piece was absolutely perfect for my needs: A single player campaign where the necromancer PC is raising armies of the undead while civilization throws adventurers and raises armies to defeat him. 11/10

Wait, what. WOW. That was awesome. Thank you. I am already building something dark to throw at my players JUST so I can use this. Majestic and brutal. Beautiful and dark. Well done. MA would be proud of this remix.

+1 to the music only tracks, but I get that it's hard to both have a full ambience and yet not have the particular sound we don't want :) But I did just ask TTA for Patron-versions of existing tracks without the rain which is hard to explain away in the current season of my game :)

That's awesome, thanks DeAnna!

This is great. I love that it is music only so I don't have my daughters pointing out incidental effects with "Hey there is no rain/wind/growling in this place, why do I hear it?". Honestly, I would love it if you released music only tracks much like your ambience only tracks.

Myron Dietz

Oh man, that would have been a great title!

Hahahaha...I love this. I wonder what I'll use it on, because I will use it on something. I forgot to tell you that I loved Shanghai, too. Let's see...I've written things to the following: Cotton Club, Weirder Things, Highway, Noir Procedural, Dark City (more than one), 1920s Speakeasy, 1940s Office, Victorian London, Rise of the Ancients, The Long Rain, Los Vangeles, House on the Hill, and probably more that I'm not remembering at the moment. I do ghostwriting, so often I'll just put one of your tracks on to help worldbuild :)

Oooh, this might be perfect as a combat background for my session tomorrow night: Night Hag Attack!
