I had been working on the last ambience, Desert Winds for a few hours, when I remembered I had gotten an email from the author of a popular adventure module about making more underwater themes. I started thinking how similar the desert biome and the underwater biome were in terms of sound quality, tonality and direction. It all made sense and I actually stopped working on the desert to jot down some more ideas on a piece of paper.
Over the next few days I wrangled all the reverberance, drips, wooshes, splooshes I could come up with into a murky and constantly moving bit of sound design. I called this one, Sunken Temple because, honestly, we've got to be down here for something! Of course it could have been a shipwreck or an alien encounter or anything really. But I'm the title maker, so it's a temple!
It has a subtle ambient musical background which I really like - and why I put that version on the site, but I've included a music free version for those of you who like your ambience served au naturel.
