Greetings Patrons,
I've been quiet for the last couple of weeks, I know. But I've been working on this.
I got a request a few weeks ago for a waterfall sound. Just the sound, not a full ambience. And, while I've been known to drop in sounds to already existing SoundPads I started thinking about where a waterfall might be found. The answer, apparently, was on a Jungle Planet.
I already had a nature-centric SoundPad in Dark Forest, but I always felt that was more typical high fantasy - magic, elves, woodland critters etc. I wanted something a little wilder for this one. Something more carnal, more visceral. I went back and listened to the ambience, Dinotopia and thought that had enough depth to explore as a SoundPad.
It's a 'planet' because, well, it's got dinosaurs - or 'creatures' or what have you. But it can also be a terrestrial jungle environment if you select the right sounds. Obviously, based on the header image I watched Jurassic Park for ideas, but I also watched the 2016 Jungle Book, Mosquito Coast, Tarzan (skimmed that one) and a few others.
There's an expanded 'tones' section for this one that's very musical. 2 types of drums, a flute and a didgeridoo. To this I added a 'Ritual' (that's all my voice) and 'Chant', which is a heavily edited and cleaned up public domain field recording of Hopi Indians which I thought was beautiful.
For the musical tracks, Welcome is my humble nod to John Williams and his lovely Jurassic Park score. Action is a more universal energetic track that could work for lots of situations.
And, it's got that waterfall sound. 2 of them actually.
This is currently in sneak peak mode for Patrons. The page isn't linked from the main menus yet. I'll add those in a few days after last minute tweaks.
Thank you, as always, for your continuing support.
best,
Tim
