New Ambience: Lively Cafe

Happy New Year everyone! I decided to start 2016 with a fairly frequent request, and, frankly, one that I needed a little convincing to do.

Lively Cafe, was created from a handful of field recordings in Brooklyn coffee shops and bistros. Turns out, it takes a surprising amount of editing to keep the audible conversations at a bare minimum. In, er..researching this one, I would typically find a good table and get 2 or 3 minutes of audio and then a couple would sit down and start talking about Pilates, or work, or their cat.  During one outing I was sitting at a table with my wife, who totally busted me with my recorder out under the table. I edited her out (sorry honey!).  Additionally, I had to find a cafe that wasn't playing music due to copyright issues. A tall order indeed! I did find that a quick chat with a barista about what I was doing usually granted me 5 or so minutes of music-free recording opportunity!

So here's a modern coffee shop/cafe ambience for your games, or for those of you who like to study to this type of sound. Enjoy!

Nice of you to say, J.J. - I know the 'home with a new baby' gig all too well! (although it was awhile ago ;) )

Love this! I use your stuff all the time as background listening while I write. However, I've been home a lot with a new baby and really miss the ambiance of coffee shops. This is so perfect! Thank you from the bottom of my homebody heart. P.S. I've also really enjoyed the Lucha Libre and Dark City tracks.
