My Plans Moving Forward
Added 2025-07-29 21:27:18 +0000 UTCThe Release
I'm going to start this off by saying that I don't think I can hit my self-imposed deadline of releasing before the month is over. The reason being that I have a few things I need to change to be in compliance with new guidelines. Here's some points I need to touch on about this:
I know the rules on Itch don't apply everywhere. In the case that the strictness of the rules on Itch do spread elsewhere, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Steam is not an option for me being an HS2 dev.
I'm going to try to change things in a way that I can still do what I had envisioned when I started this, but also remain on the safe side of what's going on.
My Plans
I've been having trouble working at my regular pace, due to depression. However, I'm going to finish up the rewrites and renders in a timely fashion, making sure to keep the polish that I had. They are all relatively small parts, so it shouldn't take long.
I'd rather not support itch by having my game hosted there, but I will leave it and have a release there for now. I will also be putting direct links to the download here and in Discord. I'll also be working on getting something going for my game on F95, thanks to advice from a friend, and GameStoryLog. All of this will give me multiple avenues to spread the word about my game and get it into the hands of those who are interested in it.
In the extreme case that things start getting really bad with this censorship, I will split the project into an SFW version with an NSFW patch to download elsewhere. For now though, I don't see that as necessary.
Subscribestar
Thanks to the same friend mentioned above, I'm also thinking of setting up a Subscribestar, but I don't know if there is much of a point. My game is already in compliance with Patreon's TOS. If Patreon gets hit and has to change things, then I'm willing to bet Subscribestar will too. I considered it before, but I wasn't sure. I'll put up a public poll after this post to see what you all think.
In Conclusion
So, with all of that being said, I am not going to back down or give up on this project in any kind of way. No matter what happens I'll find a way to keep going and getting new releases to the people who enjoy it.
I'm sorry for not hitting the deadline of the end of the month. This will not be a thing going forward. Things just kind of stacked up on me all at once and I wasn't ready for it. In the future I will be more professional about setting and announcing release times.
Thanks to everyone who reads this and has stuck with me through all of this mess! I love you all and hope you're doing well!
