Bedlam is notorious for having doctors who just liked extorting power over people and abusing them, selling them, doing whatever. a lot of english fiction uses it i'm surprised you guys didn't know lol

😭

J Knight

She was great in game of thrones as well

I think they are, too... And thank you for the compliment. ☺

Yeah : ( I also read that it was most likely Bipolar disorder type I, which eventually led to dementia in the final decades. The dementia was partly caused by the damage (neurotoxic effects) that his severe and repeated manic episodes did to his brain over the years : ( Also the lack of adequate treatment/medication contributed to the deterioration ofc. That doctor was right about a part of his brain being inflammed😭

I know that y'all are debating the doctor's intentions but when he introduced himself as a doctor from Bedlam hospital, it was a clue that he wasn't a good man. that hospital had horrors.

That's a wonderful description of his relationship to George. I wouldn't have ever known to see that as underrated, so thank you for the lesson! In an interview, the actors playing Reynolds and George said they were roommates. They were laughing and enjoying life. They both have little experience in TV or movies, so we are seeing two actors with hopefully long and successful careers ahead. I think they are doing a wonderful job here.

Not only that, but I also think George was worried that his affliction might be passed onto the child; and that was another reason he returned to the Doctor in hopes of sparing the baby and any other future children his illness. 🤔

I also saw her on a few episodes of SUITS and she was fantastic. 😀

As far as Reynolds being underrated; It can mean various things to various people. In my statement, I'm referring to how significant Reynolds is to George as a person and the many facets of his character.... Although it's a subordinate position technically - He's NOT inferior to George with how George regards HIM & how much he depends upon him. He's his Valet; Assistant; Confidant; Friend; Advisor; & Caregiver all in one. It's his Royal duty to make sure that the King is cared for. It's a prominent position, but a stressful & thankless job at the same time.

Is our man Igly asking how it's possible Charlotte is pregnant? :)

OK, serious question. I sometimes see the term "underrated" in various comments. Somewhere someone wrote that an actor with two oscars was underrated. Just today I read a comment elsewhere that Severance, which has high ratings on rotten tomatoes, IMDB etc., is underrated. Can anyone shed light on how underrated is to be interpreted? And in the case of our man Reynolds putting his hand on the King's shoulder -- it was a beautiful and touching scene. I really loved it. My question is, how is it underrated. Thanks in advance for any illumination..

George dismissed him, so he probably did trigger him so he would be necessary again

My grandma had 13 kids spread out over 25 years. My dad was born in 1941 and he told me he didn't even meet his father until he was 5 because he was in the war.

the doctor was helping George at first but then started getting off on torturing him my personal opinion. i think from my understanding irl those treatments did more harm then good when it came to the real king george. also people suspect now that he had bi-polar disorder and some rare blood disease.

Amaya

I do think the Doctor was on a bit of a power trip. He seemed to get off on being in control of the most powerful person on earth. I wouldn’t be surprised if he purposely triggered George in order to bring him back into the fold, he knew George had some kind of stress-induced psychosis/disorder and what’s more stressful than finding out you’re about to be a father.

Michelle Fairley is such a great actress, she switches from stoic & snobbish to vulnerable & fiercely protective so seamlessly it’s amazing

Halima

Very bad vibes, indeed. 😒

Reynolds looking out for George is so underrated.
