2025-02-21 02:48:31 +0000 UTCi don’t think he was trying to give her a full on lesson about bloodlust, i think he was just trying to keep her sanity intact for as long as possible. he kept thinking about her moral compass and wanted to hold on to it for her for as long as possible, regardless of him not exactly going about it the “right” way. it’s actually his own experiences with bloodlust that makes him act so irrationally; he doesn’t want elena becoming anything like him and that’s referenced later in the episode by damon. essentially, he’s just trying his best to protect her from the immoral ways of being a vampire.

Stefan is not being realistic by having Elena drink just animal blood. Stefan is extremely bad at blood control, but it does not mean it’s the same situation for every vampire. If Caroline can get through it, Elena can too.

Because I’m the end when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not gonna make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is a hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be” this line breaks my heart. It shows how much Damon misses Alaric. Seeing Alaric sitting with Damon in spirit form twists the knife even further. Damon always manages to have memorable quotes in this show.
