Fun fact: in the book, Anthony actually tries to suck the bee 'venom' out of the wound and is caught by partygoers and they are forced to marry. I assume they changed it to add more tension...so I was very surprised at the end if this one!

2025-01-13 10:56:04 +0000 UTCI love this episode between the family dynamics, Colin and Benedict at dinner, getting a greater understanding of Anthony, but it’s also where the season loses me. As the guys said, one of the sisters is going to get hurt, they are all in too deep and I hate love triangles with siblings. No matter who wins, it always feels like they all lose.

I’m not necessarily saying him and Sienna were in love, but she’s the only woman he seemed to care about outside his family, and yet on the evening before his duel with the Duke he seeks her out. If his trauma was so ingrained that he’s running this hard from love, shouldn’t he not have gone back to Sienna before the duel to save her the hardship of losing him? They’d already walked away from one another, why would he want to risk hurting her further by going to her that evening.

2025-01-13 05:40:40 +0000 UTCAs much chemistry as there is between Anthony and Kate, personally I'm just not a fan of the butting heads so much between them. I'm sure they will probably end up together and maybe I'll change my mind but so far the best scene between them was the bee sting where Anthony was having a panic attack and she was helping him through it. Just personal preference I guess to much disagreement/argument for me. Who knows. Love the reaction though. Love you guys 🩵💚💜 Also magnanimous means generous or forgiving.

He's so distraught at the idea of some woman out there, any woman, being grief-stricken over his death that he can't bring himself to find a love match. It was never about his own heart breaking. It was that by choosing a romantic partner, he was dooming some poor woman to unbearable pain down the line and thus he couldn't bring himself to set that timer. It's a 180 twist on the "if I love, I'll someday lose" relationship trauma. He just has some healing to do. I was passively rooting for him before but this episode did 3 marathon's worth of leg-work in character empathy. Anthony and Kate have crazy good chemistry. Their simmering sexual tension is the genre done right.
