just a quick fyi from someone from a german speaking country - listening to american music started in the 50s after WW II bc american influences came over here and it never left. we listen to more english than german music though there is much great german music too. it's common to have it on the radio in the 80s not bc the US had big political influence (though ofc that added to it) but bc american music has become part of our culture without negating german music.

I like listening to the theories in the discussion and I see you are using the website after all lol. In the 80s it's only been 6 months since Chernobyl so I think they're thinking the animals dying is part of the fallout from that. The sheep had ruptured eardrums just like the body that was found in 2019.
