Today's topic is "How to paint color in TVpaint"
I share two ways.
We had the situation my voice was breaking up.
If you want to listen to only actual explanation, please skip to there 🐆

The first 8 minutes of the video are shortcut keys assigned to the mouse I use.

Unfortunately, this mouse has been discontinued. I have small hands, so the 10 keys were perfect for me.

It is a different type of line drawing.
For both methods, first use a CTG layer and place the color over the entire image.

I use the Custom Panel here.

It was created by a Japanese person named Takagi san, and can be downloaded for free at this link.

He sets it up this way.
二値含み塗り-
Paint can, no anti-aliasing, no range extension, paint only adjacent, 3 primary colors already set to include borders
二値囲み塗り-
Fill freehand, no anti-aliasing, no range extension, paint inside, 3 primary colors already set to include borders
*According to Takagi, when applying color with binarized lines, he paints first from shadows and highlights that contain colored lines, but the method is depending on person.
I start painting with normal colors.
The nichi custom panel is difficult to use for this kind of pencil-style lines. (It is not impossible to use it.)

Instead, I use the alpha channel to apply shadows and highlight lines.

Non-anti-aliased pen

Original pencil line art

In conclusion, I think that line drawings drawn in non-anti-aliased pen are easier to paint and faster to work with. However, the lines lose their original flavor. Therefore, I always use the second method of coloring.
For animation, the best way to simplify the task is to make the design simpler.
If I find a better method in the future, I will share it with you.
If you know of a better way, please let me know.
