New Patreon Changes! Migrating to a Subscription Billing

Hey everyone!

Patreon is changing the way subscriptions work here!

So, It used to be payments at the end of every month, but now will become more subscription-like which means people will be able to join at any time and been able to stay around for a whole month (instead of before that for instance if someone joined the last week of a month, their subscription would last only one week until the end of said month)

This have been around for a while on the platform but I have been avoiding it because I didn't wanted to feel too forced to release content steadily… This use to be an option but now they will force me to change the next year anyways so might as well just do it now.

So about how might impact members and the channel:

Payment wise this wont affect existing members, if you have been billed at the start of every month that shouldn’t change, this mostly help people who want to join at the half on a month and get the most of it.

Content-wise, I’ll just have to try to spread the content more evenly during a month… maybe focusing on updating every 2 weeks or so and avoiding sharing most of the content at the end of a month as I have been doing lately :p

I’ll keep updating the rewards at the end of every month so that won’t be changing.

I don’t think much would change, and personally I’ll appreciate not having a hard deadline at the end of every month. But maybe I’m missing something? If anyone can think on a way this might affect you negatively, please let me know… I still have a few days to make this decision anyways (until the end of the month)

On a side note, this change is also tied to the fact that I’m planning on slowing down a bit, but that wont be happening right away so I’ll properly update you all if I do take that decision at the end.
