Jan '25 Character Poll (snake warning)

What's good homies. Next year's zodiac is the snake, and I thought it might be kinda cool to do something for it. I always see people make OCs themed around the zodiac animal right around the new year, so I figured I'd get a bit of a head start. I looked up some snakes I thought were interesting, y'all can vote on which one you like and then I'll design a character borrowing traits from that snake.

In this case the character will be human, not a lamia. It'll also be a pretty short poll (ending on the morning of the 26th) so I have a wee bit of wiggle room to try and get this out before around the new year.

I don't think snakes are a common phobia, but if you're really not a fan of them, you'll probably have to sit this one out.

------------------------------------------

Below are the 4 snakes I've chosen, I've only labelled them by number but as always you can vote for as many as you like. I'll write out their names and a bit about what I characteristics I'd use from each snake.

1: Hairy Bush Viper (Atheris)

Likely I'd keep the colors, the bright yellows and dark browns. Maybe some short hair. Probably more medium sized. Maybe some spikes or scales around the body.

2: Desert Horned Viper

Ngl, I mostly picked this one because of the horns LOL. I like the color scheme too, but I think they're fairly large. Apparently the females of this species are larger than the males, so maybe I'll play into that a bit.

3. Albino Corn Snake

Although very rare to be found in the wild, I think albino snakes are pretty rad. This one's a bit of a wild card, tbh, because I'm not sure what I'd do other than carry over the color scheme.

4. Emerald Tree Boa

Yeah I guess boa snakes make the vipers look like children in comparison LOL. I dunno, I like green. So I guess probably large and with long green hair? Sharp features uhh. Maybe more toned?

-----------------------

I don't know how exactly this'll play out, but I'm kinda pumped to try something out. I thought about including a spitting cobra (likely the indian spitting cobra) or a rattlesnake (sidewinder), but both of them are pretty similar in color to the desert horned snake. Plus, I wasn't entirely sure how I'd work in their characteristics.

After doing a bit of research into some of these snakes, you know, maybe living in a cold weather environment isn't so bad. I may get blizzards, but at least I don't have to worry about venomous snakes.
