I think I got a pretty early design going for the character poll winner here. The idea was to combine "angel" themes along with "flying fish" themes. And it's coming along. There's things I like and there's things I need to work on.

I'm a fan of the overall colors so far, I think she stands out and is pretty unique, but I'm not too satisfied with the chest covering. I wasn't sure what to do with it. I'll have to figure out a different top for her at some point. I also tried to use scale brushes, couldn't get them to work how I'd like so I said "fuck it, we'll do it live" and just free handed the scales LOL. But, I think a bit by the end I sort of figured out how I wanted to do them.

Generally, scales follow a specific pattern, but I didn't quite want everything to be so perfectly aligned. I think I also want to make the hip wings larger. Might move them up to be more towards her lower back rather than hips too.

Regardless, progress is progress! If you guys have opinions on her design so far, please let me know. It's my first time in a couple years drawing a character that's half human half animal, and I'm pleased I can shape things better now LOL.
