Dec 2024 Mermaid Character Poll

What's good, I've been having an itch to design more characters, and I think this time I'm going to start with the base of a "mermaid". So that means the upper half will be human, and the lower half will (by default) be aquatic. Maybe they have the power to make themselves have human legs, who knows.

Anyways, the poll will be about which "element" the mermaid (or maybe a nereid?) is of. Like last time, I'll retain full control over the design, but you guys will vote on some keywords that'll dictate the direction I take. If you want to hear my thoughts on each, I wrote a few sentences on all four types.

As always, feel free to vote on as many as you like. If there's a tie, I'll just throw democracy aside and pick the one I want to do, LOL.

I think the two constants this time will probably be light skinned and have a large chest. I kinda feel like mermaids just have to be boobalicious.

Default: The tried and true. A water based creature. Vote for this if you you'd like to see a (more or less) classic mermaid. Likely they'll have blues, blue/greens and greens in their design.

Fire: Someone who lives(d) in or around a volcano. Perhaps their scales are laced with magma. Some other creature ideas for this fusion could be "Basilisk" or "Salamander". Likely a mix of darks with vivid reds/oranges/yellows.

Air: Someone who lives and flies between the clouds. Could have angelic features, or maybe like a flying fish. I imagine them as a more laid back type with brighter, more pastel-ish colors.

Dark: Someone who sleuths in the shadows. Likely an edgier type of design, could borrow traits from demons or devils. I'll admit, so far this is the idea that's the least concrete in my head, but I imagine their colors would be mostly dark, likely purples, burgundies, maybe some reds.

It's been a long time since I've drawn scales or like, well, monster girls who are less human-like, so I don't know how well this'll turn out. But I did enjoy the plant monster girl, (who I will need to name at some point, I want to go back and draw her more,) so hopefully this'll turn out as neat.
