I'm sure there's more than a few ways that she'd theoretically be able to work around it, but only a spirit like Loke who specialises in combat would be able to strategically figure something out in the moment. Besides, it isn't a life or death situation for Lucy either so Aquarius never would've even begun to take it seriously

Don't forget that Bickslow's got secondary magic in his eyes which literally allows him to possess people's souls, and Freed... Freed's another kind of monster altogether at this point in the story
