Dev Diary #41: New Date Mode BETA tomorrow (hopefully)

Hey guys, it's been a little quiet but that's only because I put all the time I could get into getting a new Beta version ready. There's one or two small things left to do and if there are no surprises, I should be able to finish it tomorrow and put it up for all patrons with the BETA ACCESS perk.

Here's some preview stuff:

First, the preview for the path you'll take when using one of your cards is pretty much finished and looks like this:

It looks so simple but it's actually quite complicated with the complex way levels are constructed in combination the different types of cards, especially those that have random steps or, as the card on the left on the left in this picture, two entirely independent "sides" to randomly (the small spiral in the center) or in other cases carefully choose from.

Anyways, I also just got around to give Mayu proper reaction effects when gaining or losing affection (see Attachments) or enchantment points. These are controlled independent from facial expressions and her randomized blinking.

Of course there's a lot more new stuff compared to the last beta version, most notably that it contains not only the first segment but the entirety of the Date with Mayu! But there's now also a way to swap your entire hand for new cards by paying 2 enchantment points (the number and star in the top left corner) in case you're stuck and in general everything just looks waaaaay nicer already. And many finishing touches aren't even put on yet ;)
