Yes, it was definitely a great idea to not have painted in four years and then go for dozens of golden spheres after nothing but a quick Shallan warmup. 😆 Taking no prisoners here.

And it's so weird to apply things I learned while doing digital watercolours to doing real watercolours now. Like understanding how much I love crisp colour transitions, and choosing a paper that makes that possible (and this paper does seem to have suffered more than I thought it had, nyaarg). Or maybe it was the grey granulating paint I used, which didn’t allow crip layers on top of it. There's so many things to relearn, lol. I am pretty happy with the detail in the face, but I may have to rethink my signature…
