As I assume most of you have gathered, I have my frustrations with WoW, and I was especially disappointed and angry when the lawsuit came out but not surprised, because one could tell from Blizzard's writing that they had issues with women.
They had issues, period, with misogyny, racism, mental illness, homophobia, etc.
It is *really* hard to believe that the Alexstrasza quest was some honest or innocent mistake in light of everything over the last couple years.
Even if they do change it, I'm hesitant to trust that it won't happen again, and that makes me uneasy when I think about making WoW content, even if it is in the vein of tearing down canon for something different.
I don't know what I'm trying to get at here. I'm still just angry and baffled as to how this even got through, after *everything* that happened with the company, after replacing vaguely sensual paintings with fucking fruit bowls, THIS is the thing that gets through?
It makes me want to go back to doing those pseudo-game review videos like the ones on Dishonored and Dying Light, because I enjoyed those and the source material didn't make me want to put my head through a wall. (With the exception of Obscure 2)
I still hold a lot of fondness for the setting despite Blizzard's best efforts but boy are they fucking intent on changing that.
