Daimyo /Chapter 62 Uchiha Madara

Shimotsuki Kōmei gave a light shout, leading everyone to quickly retreat.

Everyone's attention was drawn to him, and they looked in the direction he was pointing.

A strange figure, half black and half white, stood at the edge of the cesspool, silently and expressionlessly picking up Nagato's eyes and tucking them away.

Just as everyone was guessing when the strange person would leave, he raised his hands, quickly formed hand seals, summoned a large number of wooden spikes, and impaled the Konoha Jonin's corpse like a hedgehog.

Immediately after, he summoned a large number of wooden stakes, destroying several kilometers around Nagato's wooden house.

“He seems angry.”

“Yes, Teacher, you're right, but why is he angry?” Yahiko was the most curious.

“Sir, can you tell me what exactly happened?”

The Ise family was completely bewildered.

“Uzumaki Fusō, your fried dumplings taste really good.” Shimotsuki Kōmei returned to his original appearance and put on his mask.

“It's you! You bought my fried dumplings before. At that time, you had a very cute little sister with you.”

As Shimotsuki Kōmei put on his mask, Uzumaki Fusō immediately recognized him.

Fusō remembered it vividly: one day, a black-haired man with a strange mask walked into her shop, and she had observed him carefully.

“Indeed. I didn't expect to meet again. Your son has grown up.”

“Yes, it's been a few years since Whirlpool Country was destroyed. I've been living in the Land of Rain. Sir, Nagato's eyes…”

Fusō gently stroked Nagato's eye socket, asking cautiously.

“It's nothing. Those eyes were transplanted to Nagato by someone when he was young.”

Several people pricked up their ears to listen.

“Those eyes are very powerful. For the eyes to Awaken, their owner needs to experience immense stimulation. Just now, that strange person lured the Konoha Ninja and killed you and Ise.”

Ise and Fusō stood stunned. The strange person's strength was extremely high; what would they do if he targeted them? The two suddenly felt helpless.

Little Nagato had already gone to play with Yahiko.

“Don't overthink it. The eyes have been retrieved, and the matter is over.”

Shimotsuki Kōmei revealed part of the truth to alleviate the Nagato family's fear.

“Next, you will follow me to complete a mission in the Land of Rain, and then I will take you to see Uzumaki Ashina.”

“Thank you, sir.”

Graveyard of Mountains.

“You're back. You must guard my Rinnegan carefully. No mistakes are allowed.”

Beneath the demonic statue of the outer path, the elderly Uchiha Madara sat cross-legged, his back still perfectly straight.

His majestic appearance had been eroded by time, his head of graying hair still stood upright, and the lines of wrinkles on his face were like the scars from his many years of battles, crisscrossing.

“Lord Madara, rest assured, I have brought your eyes back.”

“Brought them back… Cough, cough, cough. What did you say? You brought them back? Speak, what happened?”

Madara was agitated, coughing incessantly, and Tobi beside him stepped forward to pat Madara's back.

“Lord Madara, I followed the plan and led two Konoha Ninja into Nagato's home.”

“Everything was going smoothly, but then a Kumogakure Ninja suddenly appeared, killed the two Konoha Ninja, dug out Nagato's eyes, and, well, threw them into the cesspool.”

Zetsu expressionlessly explained the situation to Madara.

“Cough, cough, cough. That damned Kumogakure Ninja, ruining this old man's plans, seeking his own death. What's his name?”

“Hmm, the Hidden Cloud Village Anbu's deputy leader, Sabui.”

“Tobi, Zetsu, go bring him back.”

Poor Sabui had no idea that a heavy burden had already fallen upon him.

Having failed the Land of the Moon mission, he was severely reprimanded by the Raikage and lost his position as Anbu deputy leader, demoted to the lowest rank. Unwilling to accept this, he would go to the pub to drown his sorrows whenever he had time.

Tobi and Zetsu secretly infiltrated Hidden Cloud Village, searched the entire Village, and finally found Sabui in a pub.

“Heh heh, daring to ruin Lord Madara's plans. His strength is mediocre, but his guts are not small.”

“It's him. Bring him to Lord Madara. How to deal with him will be decided by Lord Madara.”

The heavily intoxicated Sabui was easily taken out of Hidden Cloud Village by the two.

“Lord Madara, we've brought the man back. How do you wish to deal with him?”

Sabui was thrown before Madara by Tobi.

“Wake him up.”

Tobi formed a hand seal with one hand and sprayed a mouthful of carbonated water on Sabui's face.

Slowly waking up, Sabui opened his eyes, propped himself up on his elbows, and looked around.

Seeing Madara and the two, he instantly jumped back, assuming a defensive stance.

“Who are you people? What are your intentions bringing me to this godforsaken place?”

No one answered. Zetsu instantly appeared behind him and swept his legs, knocking him to the ground.

“I ask, you answer, or you die.”

“Alright, alright, alright, you ask.”

“Why did you dig out Nagato's eyes?”

Sabui's eyes were filled with confusion.

“Who is Nagato? I didn't dig out his eyes!”

“Still so stubborn, Zetsu.”

Zetsu raised his hand to form a hand seal, and two wooden spikes pierced through Sabui's thighs.

“Ah! I truly don't know! There must be some misunderstanding. I haven't left Hidden Cloud Village in a long time!”

Sabui clutched his legs, shouting loudly.

“Hmm? Heal him.”

Tobi stepped forward, roughly pulled out the wooden spikes from Sabui's legs, and used Ninjutsu to heal Sabui's wounds.

Sabui's injuries were quickly healed. He moved his thighs and silently stood to the side.

He understood in his heart that he couldn't offend any of the people in front of him. His life or death depended entirely on their mood.

“Tobi, fight him.”

Madara needed to confirm whether Sabui was the one who ruined his plans. He had given Tobi orders and then turned to Sabui, saying,

“Use all your abilities, or you will die.”

Tobi and Sabui nodded, walked to an open space nearby, and the battle erupted instantly.

Sabui immediately used his most proficient Lightning Release, but his strength was far inferior to Tobi's, and he was defeated in a few minutes.

“Zetsu, is it him?”

“Lord Madara, no. The person who ruined your plans did not use Lightning Release.”

Madara fell silent.

Who exactly was it who ruined his plan at such a crucial moment?

Did that person dig out Nagato's eyes unintentionally, or did he know something and do it on purpose?

Why did he appear as a Kumogakure Ninja? Was what he did in the Land of Rain something that couldn't see the light of day, or did he discover Zetsu hiding in the shadows?

That person was full of mysteries. Without clarifying the situation, Madara felt uneasy.

“Lord Madara, how should we deal with him?”

Tobi, victorious, returned to Madara's side, carrying Sabui with one hand, and suddenly asked, interrupting Madara's thoughts.

Madara glanced at Sabui. He had some strength. In the future, when collecting the Tailed Beasts, he would be enough to serve as cannon fodder.

“Hmm, are you willing to serve me?”

Sabui, whose heart pounded from Madara's gaze, heard that he could live, and immediately scrambled up, kneeling on one knee.

“Willing, willing! Thank you, Lord, for taking me in!”

“You few go to the Land of Rain, find out the identity of the person who ruined my plan, and if circumstances allow, bring him back.”

Shimotsuki Kōmei, with six people—three adults and three children—was wandering around the Land of Rain.

He was looking for another elder of Akatsuki, Junzō, whose intelligence-gathering abilities were quite good.
