The first pages of the Imperium comic!

So this took a little bit of time to figure out, which means I haven't put out as much content this week as I would've liked to. Everything's now set for the next week though, so bear with me ;)

I wanted to visually update the style from Peak Performance and previous comics. I was never a huge fan of the text bubbles I used there. I tried going to more conventional text bubbles for this one but that just doesn't fit either so I've just been experimenting with a bunch of different designs.

The whole challenge is a balance between readability, guiding the eye, and style. I don't think I'm quite there yet, so I might have a different design again for the next post, but for now this works and I didn't wanna postpone any longer.

The pages are also a little bit more labour intensive since I wanted to do more with overlapping elements to tie each page together into a cohesive whole. I think it looks very nice tbh. Also another cool thing I'll be doing here is swapping perspectives back and forth between Kayla/Yelena and Breanna/Tatiana. Currently I've made a bunch more pages than I've posted today but they don't all have text yet.

So again, bear me with, busier release schedule coming right up, but I just had to get this squared away first since I really didn't wanna wait to start working on the comic any longer.
