Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of reporting, but it hasn’t meant a lack of work.

Reflecting on the release of 1.20…I feel like my aim has been off in the past couple of episodes. So instead of doing what I wanted to do – which was jump immediately into production of episode 1.21 – I decided to devote some time and energy on story planning, both for the next two side quests (Big Mac and Booth Babe), and the heroine’s overall story more broadly.

I did some deep dives into NPCs, went to a tech conference as field research for Booth Babe, and reworked the episode outlines. And just generally did some deep, serious thinking about the next few steps and how to make them better and more fun to play.

I then jumped straight into writing, which is what I’m currently doing. I’m building scenes for the next release, in the engine, so they’re playable and easy to add artwork to. Our illustrator lovely Victoria is busily working on that.

I skipped last week’s report because I feel like I’m working in a weirder way than usual, and I’m not exactly sure what’s happening or how to explain it. I think maybe I'm taking a few more creative risks than I have recently. But it’s been really exciting, and I’ve been working long days on it, feeling kind of manic and energised. It seems positive, so I’m just rolling with it for now.

Glad to hear you're progressing. One thing I'm realising from the recent content is that I'm really here for the spy stuff and the sense of threat that I'm navigating Kate through. Is there any chance of that turning up in these sidequests?
