1.0.0 Has been released! We're out of beta!

This release is a pretty huge milestone for the project since it was first created in March of last year. Hundreds of hours of work has gone into this project, and I plan on spending hundreds more hours making this product worth using.


This release doesn't have a lot of new features, but it does mark a huge change in the code base. I refactored the avatar script, mod, and program to prepare for feature additions like custom emotes and custom shader additions.


But that's not to say it doesn't have some changes. One option I added is a very important feature: a customizable update rate for the messagebox.

This may not sound too interesting, but it is very important. The messagebox updates in chunks of 7 characters at a time, up to 63 characters. If you've noticed the box take time to populate fully, it's because of this value. It will process 7 characters every... you guessed it, 400 milliseconds. If you drop that number to 200, it'll literally double the speed of the messagebox!

BUT, there's a problem with making it too fast! If you make this number lower than the ping of the people you're "talking" to, they're going to miss chunks of your messages!

If you change this value and people complain about missing text, make sure to increase this value for them! Your best bet is to keep it from 300-400, but if you talk to people with fast internet, you could drop this all the way down to 100 and probably be OK!


Next on the list are emotes!

There's still some work to do, but they do work in-game! Time to get back to work on the next release, it'll be a good one!
