Update 24/11/23

Wowsers, I am so sorry to have left y'all hanging all month. It's been another pretty busy one for me, and no, I have no goddamn idea how I've been so busy despite being off work, either. 

So, obviously from the image above, you can tell, I had my second surgery! Both hands fixed! Yee! Hopefully, this is the last one (unless the public healthcare system finally gets back to me about my back, but the outlook on that one isn't so good). Unfortunately, there was an itty-bitty complication with this one, and after the surgery it fucking hurt. Basically, after the surgery they use a local anaesthetic on the nerve to ensure that there isn't as much shock, and therefore pain, when I wake up; unfortunately, the nurse forgot to do this before they dressed the wounds, and they decided to try and see if numbing the whole hand instead would work. Yup, I got used as a test subject. Short answer: no, no it would not work. So, I spent a good week in fucking agony because the nerve was so stirred up, and took so many painkillers I actually ended up accidentally OD'ing. Was a... rough week. But! It's all better now, stitches are out, and I'm working my way back to 100%. All is good. 

Before that, my douchebag brother made me house-sit for him and his wife, on very short notice, while they went on their honeymoon. Now, I did this because my mom made me promise to play nice, but... yeah, I'm kinda over it. This is the same brother that ghosted me when I needed a ride into and back from the hospital, didn't even answer my text messages or calls (thankfully, I have some very good friends), so he's kinda on the shit-list right now. Anyway, I found the change of environment really detrimental to my writing output, but at least the cat was cute. 

So, yeah. I'm hoping to have a draft of something done before the end of the month, but I wouldn't hold your collective breath. I'm pushing for it, and the next canon self insert chapter is more than half done, but god damn did this surgery mess me up a lot more than the last one. I'm working on it, I promise. 

I haven't really got much else to report. A lot of surgery recovery and being shitty that I can't do any cleaning, because my brother-roommate (different brother to the afore-mentioned one) is a slob and isn't helping much. You should see the pile of dishes. *shudder*

I'll have more 'start here' posts up and ready to go, hopefully in the next few days. Self Insert Book 2, Apocryphals, the multitudes of art I've had done over the years, that kind of stuff.
