Update/Preview 3/11/21

Blargh. Sorry for the lateness of this update. I’ll get into why in a moment. I’m the meantime, please enjoy the joke we all saw coming.

So, Australia doesn’t have Thanksgiving, but there’s still three events at years end that mark the calendar for us poor bastard hospitality workers: Christmas, New Year, and the Melbourne Cup. Yes, the race that stops a nation! The Melbourne cup horse races, and given that I work in a casino/hotel, well… you can guess where I’m going with this. It has been a trial, especially this year, post-Covid, with everyone over-compensating for missing out last year.

I suffer.

But, enough complaining. The next Dark chapter is in the planning phases, and I got a pretty good idea how I want at least half of it to go down. The canon chapter, however… yeah. Not going so great. I’m putting it to the side for now to focus on trying to get Dark done in a timely fashion, but it will be done by the end of the month! The last couple weeks, between work (seriously, fuck the Melbourne Cup and all associated bullshit…) and my medication changing (and I have been totally tripping balls, let me tell ya) I’ve just been kinda burned out. I’m still working on the chapter, but it’s just not coming together the way I want. Hopefully taking a Dark break will revitalise me a little.

Actually, I was kinda thinking yesterday that I wanna work on another Apocryphal. Just something totally non-canon, goofy and fun, something to really let loose and have some fun with. So, maybe keep an eye out for that, eh?

Not much else happening, I’m afraid. I’ve been combing my work, looking for a 500 word section that really makes you stop and go “wow, that’s good shit” that I can use with short story submissions. I’m afraid I’m too close; it all just looks the same to me lol. GW also just dropped a bunch of new Middle Earth minis, and I’m frothing at the mouth to get my hands on them. There’s a Ruins of Dol Guldur terrain kit, and it just looks so damn cool and creepy. One more thing to add to the pile, I guess…
