Preview/Update 12/10/21

Morning all! Welcome to the new patrons! Hope everyone’s doing good. Have another look at the next Dark chapter.

I will freely admit I am struggling with this Dark chapter. There’s three perspective shifts in it, which might be a mistake given Dark’s comparative short word count, and it’s tripping me up. I’m trying to write from Velne’s perspective, which I haven’t done before, and it’s driving me mental trying the get her ‘voice’ right. The hardest part, though, is getting inside Raven’s head right now; she’s underpowered, separated from her ‘anchor’, and just in a shitty place overall. And I haven’t fucking built that up properly. Ugh. Not to mention she’s suddenly responsible for, like, five other people, and for all she knows they’re being hunted. It’s a lot to cram into a small segment, and I’m having… difficulties.

TLDR: Dark may be late, but I’m working as hard as I can to avoid that eventuality.

Aside from that, not much else going on. I finally, after like two years of putting it off, watched the Fate/Kaleid Phantasm OVA. It was fucking hilarious. I’m very upset with myself right now for putting this off for so long. Like, yeah, the FGO Phantasm shorts were amusing. But this… this was pure gold. I was crying it made me laugh so hard. I’ve also been busy list-building for my Age of Sigmar armies. Well, okay, half-adding because I despise the list building aspect, but still. My gaming buddy is finally putting together one, so I’ve started reworking my own list to take third edition rules into account. Much frustration is being had. But, it’s part of the hobby. Or, so I say, but as I type this I just remembered BattleScribe is a thing… Knowing my luck, now they’re gonna go ahead and nerf all my endless spells. Just to honk me off.
