Preview/Update 5/9/21

Good morning, all! I'm doing this update a day early because I noticed we had a bunch of new people sign up with the new chapter. So, how ya all doing? Have one last preview of the next canon Self Insert chapter. 

Good news! I'm recovered enough from whatever plague I had this week (more on that later) that I was able to get the draft of the next Self Insert chapter done! It's off with Rice for editing, and should be up sometime early next week. The Self Insert Dark polls are finalized, and while trying to explain away that time-skip is gonna be hard to do without making it jarring, the people have spoken and the story progresses! I'm starting work on that tomorrow. I'll also throw a vlog together sometime this week. I know, late again... and I was doing so well...

I would also like to take this moment to welcome TheRealOG, who has graciously agreed to come on as a proof-reader/historical consultant the make sure that the war with Valm is as realistically brutal and unpleasant as possible. So, look forward to that. 

Speaking of people who are not me that are doing things lately, my editor MinuteRice has also begun streaming on Twitch! He's currently working his way through a Metroid marathon, and I believe he's up to one of the Prime games? Anyway, if that seems like your kinda thing, check him out. I... don't actually have a link. I did not think this one through. Google it, I think he's streaming sometime today. 

So! Yes, metallover got sick again. I know I say "I was sick", "I had a cold", "migraines kicked my ass" quite a bit, but good lord this time I was fucking sick. Top three sickest I've ever been in my life, easily. For three days I couldn't even keep water down, I had to stay hydrated by showering. It got so bad a couple times that we were an hour away from bringing me to the hospital to put me on an IV drip. I actually ended up puking so much I wrecked my throat and literally totally lost my voice. But, I'm recovering now, back to work tomorrow, and back to writing. Which is the important part. Although I'm not really looking forward to work tomorrow...

I haven't really done anything for the last week except write and lay in bed wishing I was dead. I watched the new Evangelion movie, which was a total trip. I also sat down and marathon-watched Nekopara today, to celebrate getting the draft done. I think it gave me diabetes. I'm also trying really, really hard to fight off the urge to play Final Fantasy XIV again (yes, I use the Roman numerals, do something about it), because I just don't have time. I want to, but I just have too much else going on and I know y'all probably don't care but I'm trying to convince myself here. Aside from that, a couple of my favorite bands put out some new singles; Eskimo Callboy dropped an insane party-track called We've Got the Moves, and it's worth checking out for how bonkers the video is alone. Whitechapel also released a new single called Lost Boy, which is really just a music nerd like me's wet dream; it's so complicated and has such weird melody choices, but then gets into this really catchy and accessible chorus... I love it. I shared them both on the Discord server, don't forget to join in on that if you haven't already. We talk about stuff and there's also totally tasteful images of the human form. XD
