Morning, all. Have a gander at the next Self Insert chapter. Yup. It finally happened. Coffee lives. And cute Noire is cute.

So, Dark was actually up on time this month. Yay. Polls for next month to follow. Self Insert proper is underway. I’m making progress, but there’s politicking in this chapter (as well as coffee), and I am not good at writing politicking. So, hopefully it goes well. Blazing Trinity after that, hopefully.

I’m sure y’all got an email alert about a new story by me over on fanfiction. Yup, Rice finally talked me into publicly posting Dark. Chapters will go up over there, once a month, like here. Just, much older chapters. I know I’ve been humming and hawing about it for a while, but to keep my ass safe from copyright law, I do have to post it somewhere for ‘free’. So, yeah. And hey, it’s a good excuse to revisit the old chapters, too! At least, for me it is.

My brother and I finally got around to playing our second game of the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game on the weekend. Yes, it’s a mouthful, we just call it LOTR Warhammer. It was actually a lot of fun, and I’m not just saying that because I won this time. I played as Thranduil’s Mirkwood Elves, and my brother had a force of Easterlings and Haradrim, led by Amdur the Serpent King (king of the Easterlings, basically). It was a close game. Thranduil is a fucking beast in combat; he gets an extra attack for each enemy engaged with him, on top of the four he already has. My brother managed to keep him isolated and tied up in 1v1 fights all game, but got shitty rolls when he surrounded him and went for the kill. So Thranduil turned into a walking wood-chipper on my turn and tore them all apart in one fucking combat round. It was beautiful. My brother’s still spitting and cursing about “fucking bullshit elves…”. Games Workshop are making a huge mistake marketing this shit as a wargame and not a skirmish game, though. We both had roughly twenty minis, and the game still took three hours to play. Although, I guess skirmish games really only picked up in popularity in the last few years or so, anyway. It was a lot of fun, though. Neither of us can wait for our tiebreaker round: Galadriel and her Lorien Elves vs Prince Imrahil and the forces of Southern Gondor. A crack match up, but it’ll be interesting all the same.

… okay, that was a lot about miniatures again. Sorry. You can tell I love this stuff. I haven’t really done much else aside from that and write for the last week. Thanks again for another month of support, and Nagaspeed!
