Preview/Update 1 February 2021

Happy February, all! We survived the first month of 2021! Yay! Only eleven more to go! Have a gander at the next self insert chapter as a reward!

So, I didn’t forget the update yesterday. I just always feel like it’s overkill, uploading a vlog and then dropping a preview/update/blog or whatever the fuck this is the very next day.

MinuteRice is taking his sweet goddamn time with the drafts, too, so I’ll be posting my own, unedited, drafts as soon as I get home from work. Sorry for the delay. I’m excited, though! It’s been literally years since I shared any original work.

So, like I said in the vlog, it’s all systems go right now with my writing. All projects are progressing nicely, and I foresee no issues this month. Unless Rice is feeling lazy again, but I intend to be a bit more of a pain in the ass about the deadlines this month.

... I went to write ‘I’m gonna ride him harder about the deadlines...’ and went “no, no... that’ll make it too easy for them...” and changed it to “be more of a pain in his ass” and I’m sitting here going “THAT’S NOT MUCH BETTER!” XD

Changing the subject! I remain quite boring. I decided to restart the Silmarillion, because I want to finish it and I forgot where I was up to. I’m keen on that Amazon Prime show their making for Middle Earth... god I hope they don’t screw it up. I also watched the original version The Wicker Man, and it was basically ninety minutes of a pagan village in the UK screwing with a devout Christian cop who’s there investigating a disappearance, and I’m sure it was a lot scarier in the early 70s when it first came out, back when most of the population was Christian. Now, it’s hard to take it seriously, given the resurgence of all that kind of stuff in the last twenty years or so. Aside from that, the band Brand of Sacrifice continue to blow my mind with every new song they drop off their upcoming album, Lifeblood. They’re pretty brutal, but sing almost exclusively about the anime Berserk and I love it.
